am happy to say that my laptop can now play all games in VR on high settings using an RTX card after 13 months and 1 PC and 1 Laptop which both dropped frames and stuttered.Good Luck. Optimize Nvidia Control Panel Settings for best performance.

I use a couple of overlays like OVR Toolkit for the Twitch chat and fpsvr for monitoring fps.Īny ideas? Did I overestimate the power of the RTX3080? I played Alyx just fine with my old RTX2070 Super last year, however I didn't stream back then. It hasn't been gamebreaking so far, just some visual reprojection here and there but I feel like I'm missing something. I know streaming takes its toll but I'm confused at how bad of a performance I'm getting. I should also mention that I'm streaming HL:Alyx on Twitch with OBS Studio (nvenc). For reference, I play Half Life:Alyx on Medium settings at 90hz(150% res) and the framerate keeps dipping into the 60's every once in a while while the GPU loads hovers around 70-90%.
I recently got an RTX3080 and so far I'm not impressed.
